Zoom Laser Teeth Whitening is the quickest and most effective way to whiten your teeth in less than 1 hour.
No matter how discolored your teeth were, it could potentially bring up to 4 – 8 shades brighter.
The Zoom! bleaching gel contains 25% of Hydrogen Perioxide. Upon exposure of a special light, it will be activated and broken down into oxygen. Oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, take the colored substances away without changing any structure of the teeth. There are many rumors that whitening teeth with Zoom! could destroy the enamel and harm the overall well-being of your tooth. However, this is absolutely not true. Extensive research and clinical studies indicate that Zoom whitening under the supervision of a dentist is safe. Indeed, Zoom! whitening is widely considered as the safest cosmetic dental procedures among dentists in Vietnam.
So, what causes tooth discoloration?
There are many different causes that make your teeth discolored. However, they could be categories as below:
- Extrinsic causes: extrinsic discoloration happens at the outermost layer – the enamel. This includes discoloration caused by your diet e.g. red wine, ketchup, tomato sauce, coffee, tea, etc. or your habit e.g. smoking. If your teeth are extrinsically discolored, it could be easily whitened with the power of Zoom! WhiteSpeed Whitening.
- Intrinsic causes: intrinsic discoloration happens at the inner layer of the tooth i.e. the dentin. This happened during the formation process due to certain reasons such as excessive use of certain antibiotic (tetracycline stained), or excessive exposure to fluoride (in the water). Teeth that are intrinsically stained are hard to be whitened and you should consult your cosmetic dentist for more information.
The complete procedure takes just about an hour. The procedure begins with a preparation period followed by about 45 minutes of bleaching.
A cleaning is highly recommended prior to the actual Zoom! Whitening session to remove any plaque or calculus and maximize the effects of bleaching agents.

Why do I feel sensitive during the whitening process?
Sensitivity is the most common side effect of Zoom! laser whitening.
Studies have found that roughly 50% to 67% of patients will experience certain extends of sensitivity during and after whitening. However, it will gradually subside within 1 – 2 days. There are no scientific studies to predict accurately who will enter sensitivity (or to what degree). However, the most common causes could be:
Before having your teeth whitened, your teeth are already sensitive to hot or cold food/beverage.Leaked filling or damaged restoration
How long do the results last?
Teeth that have been whitened with the Zoom System will stay lighter than they would have been without whitening if post whitening instructions are followed.
To keep teeth looking their best, we recommend flossing, brushing twice daily, and occasional maintenance or touchups with the Zoom NiteWhite or DayWhite At-Home Whitening Systems or the Zoom Whitening Pen.
How long does Zoom In-Office Whitening take?
After the initial recommended oral exam, the complete procedure takes one office visit.
The procedure begins with a preparation period followed by three, 15-minutes of bleaching sessions with an optional fourth, 15-minute session to be dispensed at the discretion of the dental professional.
